Each year, the Meridian Railroad Museum holds its Railfest event to educate and show appreciation for Meridian’s rich railroad history. This is the time of year that the general public can learn about everything concerning trains, railroad, and history in their community. This year’s event will be just like past years. We plan to have numerous vendors selling everything from historic railroad memorabilia to model trains and everything in between. We will also have vendors selling railroad related media items, and the Railroad Museum’s own Store will be open so everyone can grab a mug, t-shirt, or just make a small donation to keep events and future projects on the right track. Last year we had live music playing during the event, and we believe everyone enjoyed that, so we plan on having a couple of local bands again this year and maybe even a surprise band. Stay on the lookout for future details on this! We plan on having the Moving America Podcast on hand again this year, as well as numerous kid’s rides and educational displays for all to enjoy. Lastly, we are in the process of securing railroad equipment displays so that Railfans and the general public can see what keeps America moving.
